The Wednesday election in districts 1 3 and 5 produced tight margins with Abbott and Bentley nearly tied in district 1 and Foster narrowly ahead of Jones in district 3. Harrison appears re elected in district 5 though Beryl voter turnout could have altered results. Hospital race saw Frank Wood defeat Knell in district 3. J H Lund and Robert Platt were unopposed in districts 1 and 5 respectively.

East Ward Plans Meetings at School House
East Ward will hold Primary Mutual Sunday School and Meeting in the school house next Saturday and Sunday. Mr and Mrs Peter L Gurr and four children Anna Tia Arnold Heber spent Thanksgiving in Kanab and Fredonia with relatives and a Judd family reunion. Sylvester Jones and family of Enoch celebrated his 86th birthday during a trip to the St George temple with daughter Leone Lyman.

Nail sabotaged road near Buckhorn by unknown assailant
City Marshal Harrell Dalton investigated nails placed in the road near Buckhorn after several cars suffered tire damage. About ten to eleven tires were affected as bystanders reported seeing a man in the act, but the suspect escaped, possibly being picked up by a passing car. James C. Army officer A F Russell stationed at Fort Douglas and his wife with three young daughters survived a crash near Buckhorn when their Nash car flipped after a diving turn. Mrs Russell broke an arm and fractured skull, yet remained lucid. two other children were bruised. all were taken to the county hospital. Police cited excessive speed and possible steering failure.

Ring seeks twelve post office buildings in Utah
Senator William H. Ring introduced in Congress a bill to appropriate funds for post office buildings in twelve Utah cities. The allocations include Cedar City 100000, St George Tooele 85000 each, and 75000 for Spanish Fork American Fork Helper Lewiston Tremonton Mantl Springville Fayreon Nephi 50000 with government sites already owned at Cedar City Nephi and Spanish Fork. The measure also reintroduces the transfer of several federal bureaus to Salt Lake City and seeks 24000 for western geological surveys and broadening of Indian War pension eligibility. An additional bill would raise road funding in national parks from five million to seven point five million.
