Heart Attack Ends Life Of Former Resident James Bennett
James Earl Bennett age 51 of Lakeview Oregon died at home from a heart attack Monday evening. Sister Mrs Robert Alltel of the city reports funeral services set for Friday afternoon in Lakeview with burial there. Bennett, born August 12 in Colorado, lived in Parowan California and Klamath Falls before settling in Lakeview where he ran a grocery business, then a sporting goods store, and last a fruit farm. He was a member of the LDS Church and Elks Lodge. Survived by wife Maude Hunter, two children Robert J Bennett and Beverly Jane Clause, five grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, plus foster mother Mrs Eva Bennett and foster brother Merton Richards. Relatives from Oregon and California travel to Oregon for the services.

County Taxes To Become Delinquent Tuesday Noon
Iron County taxes will become delinquent at noon Tuesday if unpaid, per County Treasurer Lair Hulet. With under a week left, about one third of tax items had been paid, and collections are similar to last year. After the delinquent date a 2 percent penalty and a 25 cent advertising fee apply to each item, with costs added January 10, 1955 and interest starting.
