Parowan Thanksgiving Crash Injures Teenagers
A 1 year old Parowan girl suffered a broken arm and two teens were treated after a Thanksgiving dance highway crash around 1 30 am Friday. Dayle Stevens, 1, had broken bones in her left arm and shock, with Ruth Rowley and Barbara Warren hospitalized for cuts and bruises. Other Cedar City youths were uninjured. A second crash near noon Sunday at a blind corner damaged two cars. Jesse Mickelson was cited for driving without a license.

New Arrivals Bring Three New Babies to Iron County Hospital
The Iron County Hospital welcomed three newborn girls in late November and amassing family ties. Karen is the name of a six pound four ounce daughter born to Clair and Suzanne Cardon Morris of Cedar City on November 28. A second newborn, to Mr. and Mrs. Dean Carter of Minersville, arrived November 26. The third, weighing seven pounds three and a half ounces, was born to Gaylen and Ellen Muir Bayles of Parowan on November 24. November Snowfall Drops Temperatures Dramatically
A dry storm Monday yielded 16 inches of precipitation and caused temperatures to fall from a record 70 degrees on November 10 to 7 degrees at month’s end. Local observer Clayton Rasmussen notes November moisture totaled about 57 inches.

Last Rites For John B Davenport Held
Funeral services for John Burrough Davenport were held in Parowan with Howard Knight directing. Davenport born November 1873 in Parowan to William and Annie Neal Davenport died Friday of a chronic heart condition in Iron County Hospital. He never married and lived in a Rest Home locally, with winter residence in Las Vegas with the Swanners. Attendees included out of town guests from Las Vegas and Cedar City. The service featured prayers, remarks by Bishop Knight and Barbra Adams, music by Mrs Edna Brown, Mrs Ethel Bayles, and piano by Orna Johnson. Pallbearers were his nephews and nephews-in-laws.

Members of the Parowan Literary Club gathered Wednesday at the homes of Anna and Eva Adams for An Evening of Poetry. Mrs Ruth Boardman led the program with readings and discussions of outstanding selections while members shared favorite poems. Serviceman Nils Bayles Returns to Parowan for College
Mr and Mrs Nils Bayles arrived in Parowan from Fort Lewis Washington where he had been stationed since returning from Japan. He has been released from service earlier than expected due to the dissolution of his unit. He plans to enter Dixie College next week to continue his interrupted schooling.
