The Parents Teachers Association will honor the two schools with the highest parent participation during the past year at the final meeting on Monday at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium. Augusta Adams, president of the local Congress, will present a picture to a High School class. A short program by the music department and election ballots will precede the vote on two candidate groups. Results will be announced later. PTA funds will aid community playground projects.

Outstanding in every angle the Parowan Stake Relief Society held a May 11 event in the Parowan West Ward Chapel and Recreation Hall. Key Ward members helped make the first such affair a success with a program of song by the Singing Moths and Ruth Boardman narrating. The fashion show showcased re worn clothing and reupholstered furniture from the adult education class. A fine hobby and handicraft exhibit offered gift ideas and home improvements. General arrangements were by the stake presidency and boards with ward help. Refreshments followed. SeaGull girls will receive their graduation certificates during Sacrament meeting.

W A Firmage, owner of Beaver and Milford theatres, has purchased the Alladin Theater in Parowan from six former owners and will close it for a weeks long remodeling. Poppy Day will be observed in Parowan and across the nation with volunteers from Unit 20 and American Legion Auxiliary offering crepe paper poppies in exchange for contributions to veterans rehabilitation and child welfare funds. The poppies are handmade by disabled veterans in hospitals to honor fallen service members from both world wars.
