Graveside services were held Monday at Parowan Cemetery for four day old infant daughter of Kent and Marcella Tullis Mitchell who died Sunday morning in the county hospital from a congenital heart ailment. Survived by parents and a four year old sister Lana, and grandparents Mr and Mrs W Scott Mitchell and Mrs Hilda Tullis. Democrats Set June 13 Date Of Convention

The Iron County Democratic nominating convention is scheduled for Tuesday June 13 at 8 p.m. at the Court House. Candidates seeking office must file their intentions with the County Clerk on or before May 23.

At a Parowan nominating convention Iron County Republicans narrowed candidates for county offices to a September 5 primary. Incumbent E. Ray Lyman and Hab er M. Levy seek County Representative. Foster Jr Receives War Cross Citation for Marine Service

Captain John V1 Foster Jr of the U S Marine Corps is honored with the Distinguished Cross and two gold stars for extraordinary aerial flight achievements while serving against Axis forces in 1943 and 1944. The presentation occurred at Utah State University in April before students and sponsors. Foster is the son of the late John M Foster and Mrs Foster of Cedar City and husband of Maurine Adame.

Great Western Sports Show Attracts Interest

Leonard Orton of the Permnean Red and Gun Club announced local ticket sales for the Great West Sports Show to be held May 25 through June 3 at the Utah State Fair Grounds Salt Lake.
