Parowan LDS Seminary to Graduate 32 Students in Sixth Annual Exercises
Thirty two students will be graduated at the Sixth annual Seminary graduation exercises of the Parowan LDS Seminary held in the Parowan East ward chapel on Sunday evening May 12 at 3 30 o clock. The ceremony lists candidates from Parowan and nearby communities with graduates in Senior and Junior Seminary programs including Old and New Testament, Church History, and other LDS studies.

Sugar Stamp No 49 Next Period Details and Shortage Outlook
Stamp No 49 will split for next period with family allotments set to begin Wednesday and extend through August for four months. Sugar for canning may be limited and only a 10 pound allotment per canner is expected. OPA estimates 11 million tons of sugar available this year, down from last year, with overall allocations tight and canned goods needs rising.

Local PTA names new officers at year’s end meeting

Forty seven water users from Iron county representing 16 of 20 irrigation companies and pump well areas gathered in Cedar City to organize the Iron County Water Users Assn. G B Parry was named chairman with H L Adams as vice chairman and Purley Moyle as second vice chairman. L E Turner became secretary treasurer. Directors include Frank Williamson E Ray Lyman Maront Perry Elmer Davies and Leo Knell. Tom W Jensen aided the effort with Win R Wallace and L E Turner. The groups aim to protect water rights, conserve and develop water resources, and boost state agricultural potential and cheap power through water use.

Stella Webb Dies At Home In Parowan Community
Stella Wimmer Webb lifelong Parowan resident dies at home after weeks of illness. Funeral held in Westward chapel with Bishop Evans presiding and local clergy offering prayers and readings. She was born October 24 1881 to Sarah Ann and Peter Wimmer, married George Webb in 1900, survived by three children two sisters two brothers and several grandchildren.

Utah Game Board Opens 1946 Fishing Season
The State Fish and Game department releases the 1946 Utah fishing schedule with openings for trout from May 1 and general trout season on June 15. Bass fishing starts May 15 in Millard County, with other openings in Beaver River and San Juan counties. Over 100 loads of high lake plantings reported. bag limit reduced from 20 to 15 trout daily. Navajo Lake opens June 15, closes Sept 20. several streams near Panguitch Lake closed year round.

Le Roy Adams Named Second Counselor in Parowan West Ward
At the Parowan West ward conference last Sunday afternoon Le Roy Adams was sustained as second counselor in the bishopric by the Stake Presidency. He fills the vacancy created by Alvin Decker's removal to Provo. LeRoy recently returned from Europe after over three years in the armed forces and had served a church mission in the East Central States. He is the son of H. L. Adams, former bishop, and Barbara M. Adams, current Stake Relief Society president.
