The Parowan Gun and Rod Club outlines a big Memorial Day event for May 30 with trap shooting horse racing and broncho riding. Activities may start at two in the afternoon after a cemetery cleanup in the morning to beautify the area and honor the community.
An agreement between Mrs. Hattie B. Maughn and W L Adams schedules two plays at Parowan High and B A C auditorium on May 5 and May 9. Proceeds benefit Parowan Co and High School Debaters travel to Salt Lake and Cedar, with reserved seats available Saturday at Meat Market.
A community produced show titled Sylvia Runs Away was staged last week as the M. TA activity for April under W. L. Adams. The local effort received excellent support and the cast performed exceptionally, drawing enthusiastic audiences.
Music Director Van Buren announces choir rehearsal next Saturday night urging all meters to attend. The neat quarterly conference to be held here soon.
The council debated juvenile offender management at length amid complaints of rising juvenile law violations. Critics blame the County Superintendent and juvenile judge for delays, some cases pending eighteen months, while other actions included approving water extension for C. W. Adams and the regular budget of claims.
Notice to stockmen issued by the Parowan Livestock Association selling 112 grazing chances in the Bowery division of the Dixie Sevier National Forest. Members have preference to May 15. Bishop Adams announced May 13 Sacrament will be led by Aaronic priesthood for the 1829 restoration event, with related services churchwide. Fast Day scheduled for next Sunday and a new ward contribution policy was outlined with deacons visiting homes to collect donations.

The high school and grades close for summer Friday May 11 after a week packed with events. Activities include School Show, Snow White operette, Officer 666 play, Baccalaureate, Senior Class program, picture night, Commencement, Alumni Ball, and a potential sermon by President Snow. Cedar City residents and visitors filled the May Day carnival on Tuesday. A three o’clock parade showcased progress themes with Miss Lewis as May Queen, a chamber of commerce float, and a hay rack bungalow display. Evening band concert led to may pole dancing by forty eight girls, games of chance, and street carnival excitement.
