Debaters Win Again in Meat Showings

The PH. oo team repeats victory as debaters perform strongly in the meat showing event. Wins marked by clear demonstrations of skill and prep, with spectators noting the sustained high level of competition.

Parowan High Debating Club Wins Southern Division Title

Parowan High School debate teams defeated Dixie Normal on Thursday night to secure the Southern Division championship. The PFH?S affirmative Iris Decker and Huldah Mitchell beat Ezra Tobler and Verna Cox. the Dixie negative Arvilla Day and Clair Ifulet lost to Parowan’s team. The wins earn a berth in the State High School tournament in Salt Lake City in May, with coach Mr. Scott Matheson predicting a creditable showing.

Mrs Esplin Delivers Noted Relief Talk To Large Audience

Mrs Alma Esplin spoke at the relief meeting to an exceptionally large audience of women and girls praising her direct, clear delivery and strong ideas. The teacher's quorum reorganized with Mitchell, Adams, and Rowley leading as presidency and Durham as secretary, planted twelve blue spruce trees by the Tabernacle as part of a cleanup effort. Deacons quorums will plant grass around the building to improve grounds appearance. Free seed distribution from the Department of Agriculture remains at the Times Office.

Local Thespians present the comedy Sylvia Runs Away at the Parowan Opera House on Friday evening as this month’s Mutual activity. A city audience favorite praised for wit and brisk action, with reserved seats at Matheson Meat Market. Cast includes Dick Hamilton and other named characters. Cedar City Lad Accidentally Killed While Herding Sheep

Glenn Flannigan seven teen son of Mr and Mrs William W Flannigan died after his gun discharged while climbing down from a rock ledge two miles from a Cedar City sheep camp. He had been a BA C student leader and was loved by classmates. Funeral services were held Sunday with speakers and music.

A large crew works on Third West Street with earth for leveling and brush removal while officials hope more residents join civic efforts before the campaign ends.
