Cadet Pendleton Passes Mid-Year Exams at West Point
Cadet Freeman L Pendleton has completed a demanding mid year phase at West Point. He met the exacting requirements to remain and continue his academy course, studying mathematics English a foreign language and military subjects. The cadet marched in Washington DC during the inaugural parade and expresses that the presidency event was not ordinary. He is the second Pendleton grandson to attend a US military academy following Lloyd F Jakeman son of Belle Pendleton Jakeman of Salt Lake City. Lloyd is a Naval Academy graduate and is now a Lieutenant Commander.

Graveside rites planned for Pfc. Brian E Pendleton Tuesday
Military graveside services for Pfc. Brian Esplin Pendleton are set for Tuesday afternoon at Parowan City Cemetery. Pendleton, a Marine from Parowan, died on Okinawa on June 17, 1945 after landing April 1 and serving on the front lines. He was born December 25, 1925 in Salt Lake City, attended Parowan High School, and joined the Marine Corps after graduating in 1944. His body will be at the Van Buren home from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with rites led by the Porowon West Ward Bishopric and American Legion Post.
