Gasless Sundays and wartime oil logistics emerge
The piece outlines proposed wartime oil distribution reforms by a national oil administrator to streamline tanker routes from the Gulf to East Coast ports, reduce redundancy among companies, and focus refining on a single gasoline type. It also notes secrecy around convoy departures, Nazi spying risks, and Allied efforts to manage morale, trade, and infrastructure including rural electrification efforts in Alaska, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
