The Utah Iron Ore team from Desert Mound defeated the local boys in their first game with an out of town squad last Sunday afternoon. Umpired by Ray Garner, Parowan listed Harrell Dalston as catcher and Clarence Titchardson as pitcher among others. A return game is set for Sunday at Cedar Roden grounds starting at three o'clock.

Kenneth Lypmapieon son of Mr and Mrs Frank Lyman had pine nut shell in his lung since December. He coughed it up Tuesday evening after pneumonia an abscess and surgery in Arizona failed to fully heal him. X rays doubted the shell yet Dr Burton insisted it caused the trouble. The expelled shell measured just over half a pine nut. He is expected to recover and health to return.

Showers of Rain Brighten Prospect for Farmers
Prospecta for farmers have been brightened by welcome showers of rain this week. While local moisture was not abundant, substantial amounts fell on summer ranges. Several inches of snow were reported on Mammoth Tuesday morning with heavy rains at Cedar City. Little first cutting hay was damaged by the rain as most farmers have not started haying yet.
