Robert L. Halterman 66 veteran Parowan well driller lay badly injured after a heavy wrench struck him at the Emil Graff farm near Beryl. He drove to a Cedar City hospital where extensive surgery and transfusions followed. He shows signs of improvement as his son Budd from Boulder, Colorado, arrives to be with him.

Graveside Rites For Infant Of Local Couple
Graveside services were held at Parowan City Cemetery for Karen Benson week old daughter of Sheldan and Dorothy Williamson Benson of Parowan. She died Friday from pneumonia at Lion County Hospital. She is survived by her parents a twin brother Kerry Robert grandparents Frank Williamson Paragonah Roy Benson Parowan Kent Mitchell of the Parowan 2nd Ward. Bishopric was in charge. Chester Benson delivered the home prayer Williamson gave the cemetery invocation. Jess Guyman spoke and an accordion solo O My Father was performed by Wilford Young. Dedicatorial prayer by John Page.

Bluhm Honeymoon After St George Temple Wedding
Mr and Mrs Harry P Bluhm honeymoon on the West Coast after a Friday morning ceremony in the St George Temple officiated by Pres Harold S Snow. The bride Louise Marsden wore a white net and satin gown with seed pearl embroidery and carried white roses. Attendants included Irene Hyatt Mary Jane Marsden and Dorothy Bluhm. The couple celebrated with a breakfast at Dick's Cafe Parowan reception at the Marsden home and a going away suit in white with red accessories.

Former Residents Arrive For Summer Visit in Parowan
Mrs. Robert M. Miller and her children Gregory six Mona Lee three arrive in Parowan from Honolulu Hawaii where they have lived three years. They came by air and were greeted by Malo's parents Mr and Mrs John Stewart of Long Beach. The family will stay with the Garry Bentleys and R Taylor Millers through the summer and expect Bob to join in August as an assistant manager at a Kress store in Honolulu.

Last Rites Held For Mary L. B. Orton
Impressive funeral services were held Wednesday, June 2, in Parowan Third Ward Chapel for Mrs. Mary Lenora Bayles Orton 88 who died Sunday of age related causes. She was a pioneer writer and civic church worker. The service featured music by a local quartet and family performers, with prayers by relatives and church leaders.

Local dairyman loses hand at Salt Lake hospital
Alvia Hyatt a prominent valley farmer and dairyman, was brought by train to LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City where Saturday surgery began with the amputation of his left hand. Additional surgery was done on the right hand to fight malignant growths he has suffered from for years. Some doctors suspect arsenic paint poisoning from a prior ailment as the source of the infection. Mrs Hyatt remained at his bedside in Salt Lake City during his convalescence.

Plans Announced For Third Ward Social
Plans for a Third Ward social to honor former Parowan Bishopric members were announced by Bishop Howard M. Adams. The event features an outdoor lawn program near the library if weather allows, otherwise in the Old Rock Church basement, with lunch served and a free beverage by the Relief Society.
