Funeral Services Held Paragonah For Mrs Eliza Jane Jones
Funeral services for Mrs Eliza Jane Jones were held Wednesday at 1 30 pm in the Ward Chapel with Ward Bishopric presiding. The Ward choir directed by D Amasa Stones and accompanist Mrs Wynn Barton sang Deeping Trails and Beautiful Land. J Leon Topham opened the service. Mrs Annie Talbot gave a sketch of Mrs Jones. Musical numbers included a saxophone solo One Tiny Hour by J Lowe Barl and a chorus led by Mrs June Topham Viole LaFever Mrs Wilmoreaux and Mrs Hilman sang Mother to. Speakers included Victor Robinson with remarks by the Bishopric. The choir sang O My Father, and the benediction followed by prayers. The grave service was held at the cemetery with grandsons and family members in attendance.

Leaders Chosen By Young Farmers Of Paragonah
The Young Farmers club held its first regular meeting of the year at Paragonah High School Red Room with Thomas Abbott named President and Norman Evans Vice President, Ralph Hulet named another officer. Two agricultural films were shown and extra notes are continued on the back page. Mrs Bettridge lies critically ill at Iron County Hospital after a house fire that destroyed the family home. Her husband had started fires in a coal stove and range before chores, then left. He rescued their son Claude and neighbors carried Mrs Bettridge from the burning house. Firefighters and neighbors fought the blaze but the wood frame structure burned completely, though the cellar with canned goods was saved.

William M. Bill Hurst born and raised in Beaver County Utah spent 38 years with the Forest Service. He served under supervisors Orrin C. Snow J W and others across Parowan Panguitch and Dixie National Forest areas. His work included surveying timber and aiding ranger districts from 1910 to his retirement with evolving travel from saddle and buggy to Model T Ford as roads improved. Continued on Page Four.

Automobile Crash Hurts Local Lady In Cedar City
Mrs. Claude Hulet suffered painful bruises to her shoulder and arm after a two car collision early Monday morning at the Hospital block intersection. Rupert Hulet drove the Chevrolet Club Coupe, which was damaged. Miss Frankie Leo Burton and the other driver were uninjured. Ex rays showed no broken bones and Mrs Hulet was taken to the hospital.

Arnold L. Dalton Jr of Parowan completes Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning with the Airborne Battalion Student Training Regiment. He earns silver wings at Pas Class No. 10 graduation on December 17. During five weeks he learns parachute technique and makes five supervised jumps from 1000 to 1200 feet with combat gear.
