Etta Westbrook Stevens age 64 of Ed mund Stevens died suddenly last night of a heart attack after a social gathering. Born Sept 22 1874 she is survived by two daughters Nellie and Maude plus four sons and two daughters including Maggie Prank Albert Robert and Grant Read Nelle West Riding and many grandchildren. Also survived by half siblings Ida Lowder May Smith Norton Fannie Omby Norton Dean Smith Norton Ellie Smith and A Z Smith. She was active in the D S Church and Relief Society work with a devoted wife and mother profile. Services likely Sunday with time to be set.

Chasing Syeedar Nearly Costs Patrolman His Life
A state highway patrolman, L. J. Adams, faced a near-fatal pursuit when a cow wandered onto the grade ahead at high speed. He tried to veer without losing control, crossing a borrow pit and zigzagging to avoid a rollover. He later caught up with the speeder, 1939 Buckeye August Ne Prakan, who was fined $25 for reckless driving through towns, curves, and hills from Buckhorn to Cedar.

County Red Cross Sets Annual Budget for County
The Kron County Chapter of the American Red Cross outlines a 248.00 budget for local services this year including highway safety, hygiene care, community health, school children, home service for ex-service men, and miscellaneous items. It plans to establish a station in Parowan if suitable space is found and may send representatives to Salt Lake Springs for training. The roll call shows 629 members enrolled at 1.00 each with 130 in over two dollars and 43.50 in smaller gifts. a portion goes to the National organization while the rest stays local.
