Mr and Mrs Herbert Hyatys longtime city couple mark their 57th anniversary with a two day gathering on January 16 1939 visits by family from afar and a social at eldest daughter Mrs Albena Gurrs home. Sunday family dinner at the Hyatt residence includes sons daughters their spouses and grandchildren. A Bowlder Dam trip was planned but may not occur due to absentees. The Hyatts were married January 14 1882 and have lived in the community ever since. Mr Hyatts 78th birthday was August 23 and Mrs Hyatts 73rd birthday was September 4 1038.

Purowatt High School Opera In Old Louisiana Opens Next Week
The Purowatt High School presents the operatic piece In Old Louisiana with performances on Wednesday and Thursday January 18th and 19th at 8 PM in the Lleh school auditorium. A forged document, a duel, and a dramatic rescue by the Marquis de La Tour lead to a happy ending with Rose’s true parentage revealed and approval for the couple.

Red Cross chapter to budget funds in Iron County
The Iron County Red Cross chapter aims to budget several hundred dollars for war relief and community welfare. Secretary’s report shows November fall call raised about 815 dollars, with nearly 800 retained by the chapter, plus a sizable previous balance to be allocated.
