County Flanking Names New Committees in Iron County Plan
At the County Planning Board meeting held February 3 in Cedar City extending the Extension Assembly room the board formed a small committee to draft a tentative County Agricultural Plan for Iron County during 1957. Members include H L Adams chairman Millard Halterman Samuel Abbott Randolph Grimshaw Mrs Blanch Jones Mia Dewey Thorley and Mrs Frank Wymanson. The panel discussed water for irrigation fertilization livestock and crop diversification road improvements seed selection weed and pest control farm records and rural housing among other topics and invites public suggestions to the County Agricultural Agent. The note also mentions a Parowan school chorus performance for the state legislature and the Fathers and Sons banquet hosted by the Parowan Future Farmers chapter, with attendees including 25 members and guests. Leo Benson 14 son of Mr and Mrs Edgar Henson of Parowan died Friday at Cetar City County Hospital after several days of illness and two brain abscess surgeries. Survived by parents two sisters Kath leen and Ora Frater and brother Joseph. Funeral Sunday 11 30 am at West Ward Chapel with services postponed due to Union meeting.

Cedar Men Bound Over To District Court On Pelts Theft
Three Cedar City men named C N Quinn Carl Fife and Theodore Gar alias Ted Brown were bound over to district court for trial on a charge of stealing sheen pelts from Sam Hollands warehouse two weeks earlier. Fife and Brown were captured in Las Vegas with a truck tied to Quidd and 63 dollars in pelts. additional pelts surfaced in Cultoria with some still missing. Bonds set at 750 dollars each. Brown remains in jail as others report.
