Iron County volunteers will begin a door to door canvass Monday in a county wide Red Cross fund drive led by Amos County chairmen Loran Hirsch and others. The campaign seeks generous contributions to support disaster relief civilian first aid and veteran hospital programs.

Last Rites Held For Former Resident Wrs Petty Benson Seegmiller
Funeral services were conducted in St George for Wrs Petty Benson Seegmiller 24 wife of Ronald Clair Seegmiller. A Parowan native born May 1 1926 she died Friday in Iron County Hospital after seven weeks of heart illness. Survived by husband son Ronald R and parents John and Edna Moore Benson of Parowan. Numerous relatives attended from Parowan including Benson and Moore families. Local participants included the Ladies Trio and several Benson and Moore relatives.

Mrs Elizabeth Dalton Meeks a former Parowan resident died February 1 in Denver Colorado from a heart attack while visiting her sister. She was born December 27 1879 in Parowan to Franklin and Mary Dalton and later moved to Wyoming. Survived by sons Edward Scott and Frank Meeks a daughter Ora Welch two brothers Frank and Ernest Dalton and two sisters Annie Fells and Edith Christensen. Her husband John Meeks preceded her in death.

Water rights protests heard at Fifth Judicial Court session
Protests over proposed adjudication of water rights in Cedar and Escalante Valleys were heard in a special Fifth Judicial Court session presided by Judge Will L. Heyt. Attending were protesting citizens, State Engineer's office, the Attorney General department, and defense and state attorneys. No action was taken. findings will follow after evidence is studied.

Born January 7 1915 in Lund Utah she lived in Lund and Milford most of her life. Survived by her husband seven children and several siblings.
