Joseph B Adams Dies In California
Parowan stock man Joseph B Adams died in Anaheim California at age 69 after a long illness. He was found near his isolated sheep camp a year ago and later recovered. He is survived by his estranged wife and children in Los Angeles Salt Lake City Seattle and Anaheim plus five grandchildren and siblings Will Adams Miriam Burton and Pearl Decker. Funeral and burial occurred in Anaheim per his wishes.

Grace Guymon Named BYU Class Personality
Grace Guymon daughter of Mr and Mrs Jess W Guymon is one of eleven senior students at Brigham Young University featured in the 1950 Banyan yearbook as a Class Personality. Elected in a student body vote earlier this month, the group was announced at the Banyan Ball on February 10. Grace, a Parowan High School 1946 graduate, served as student body secretary and yearbook editor in high school and is an education major active on campus.

Last Rites Held For Jan Macfarlane
Funeral services for Jan Macfarlane five year old daughter of Monts and Neva Ashworth Macfarlane of Parowan were held in the West Ward Chapel with Bishop Karl O Mitchell presiding. The child died suddenly after only a few hours illness the exact cause undetermined. The service opened with Sleep Little Golden Head sung by Beverly Pendleton Joy Orton and Cherie Day. Invocation was offered by Alert M Ogden. Barbara Adams spoke with concluding remarks by Bishop Mitchell. Closing song Your Sweet Little Rose bud Has Left You was sung by Joan Bayles. The grave was dedicated by C William Macfarlane of Cedar City. Pallbearers were Jay Macfarlane Woodrow Watson Gaylen Ashworth and DeWitte Reed. Husband Of Former Parowan Girl Dies In Hospital
Grant Tolton a 42 year old Seaver City businessman and husband of Marion Mitchell Tolton died Thursday night at Holy Cross hospital Salt Lake City from a throat ailment with severe hemorrhage. Funeral services for father J. F. Tolton were held in Beaver on Wednesday. Services will be conducted in Beaver either Saturday or Sunday. He is survived by his Beaver wife, two sons Mitchell and Gordon Tolton, daughter Mary Lou Merryweather of Denver, two grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.

A report is sent to the telephone company manager to stop a booth in Parowan used by boys dialing random numbers at midnight. A Sunday call woke Mrs. Burton. neighbors in Salt Lake and Cedar sought the line while Moore received a California and Salt Lake message. The writer condemns the confusion and disruption, warning the prank is not cute or right and that others are awakened.

Paragouah Boy Injured In Shotgun Accident
Eugene Robb a young son of Mr and Mrs LeGrande Robb was wounded by a shotgun blast while with companions near the well north of town. Edwin Anderson fired the pellet shower injuring both legs and abdomen. He received 26 pellets and was rushed to Iron Co hospital for treatment with a cautious recovery expected after surgery delayed until Wednesday.

Mrs Rebecca A Miller returned home Tuesday from Paramount California after three and a half months with the N J Decker family.
