At a regular Junior Chamber of Commerce meeting a 10 or 12 member delegation was chosen to attend the State Travel Trophy award banquet in Layton Utah on February 26. The award honors clubs with the highest membership relative to miles traveled and is kept by the club with the most man miles by year end. Parowan continues.
Washington Iron Counties Organize Power Company
The Southwest Utah Power Company is formed in Cedar City by Washington and Iron County representatives to explore electric power sources. A 10 member board with five from each county will raise funds, survey options, and select the best source for development. Board from Washington includes LeRoy Cox and Mayor Alvin Larson with Enterprise, St. George, and East Washington Center reps. Iron County lineup features Adams, Hatch, Perry, Mac Donald, Moyle and others. Cox elected president, Adams VP, Isom second VP. Engineering firms have already contacted the board and financing talks with REA officials in Washington, D. C. are planned.

Last Rites for Paragonah Lady Dunton Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Romania K. Dunton 79. Held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Paragonah Ward chapel. She died Tuesday at her son Harvey Dunton’s home after a long illness. Born September 17, 1868 in Santa Clara she married David D. Dunton in 1893. Survived by three children Letty Workman Priscilla Lyda and Harvey E. Dunton ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
