Parowan High School gym and shop expansion discussed
At a public meeting sponsored by the local Parent-Teachers Association, Iron County School District outlined plans to enlarge Parowan High School gym and the shop beneath it. A long term option for a new gym, estimated at 142000, was favored, with funds from remodeling to be reconsidered. Architect Robert Gardner presented drawings, and the group agreed to study further and obtain more information.

Local Farmer Joins California Farm Tour
Peter H. Gurr, a Parowan farmer and Iron County stockman, represented Utah on a Utah State Agricultural College organized tour of California farms. Hearing Of School Children Checked At Paragonah Clinic
The Paragonah school population from first through twelfth grade was screened over Tuesday and Wednesday using an audiometer. About 350 students were tested, 97 rechecked, and nine found with some hearing loss. The PTA Clinic Committee led by Mrs. Ruby Orton assisted County Public Health Nurse Mrs. Alice Barton, with plans to screen Paragonah students again on Feb 14.
