Colorful Ceremony Unites Parowan Couple Jan 24

Parowan reports the marriage of Robert A. Rowley and Cleone Johnson on Saturday night January 24. Bishop Jesse W. Guyman presided before family and a few friends in the West Ward Relief Society room. The bride wore embossed white crepe with lace veil and bouquet of blue and white carnations. A reception followed with a brief program and cake cutting.

M Men Lose Tight Home Court Battle to Cedar City Team

The Parowan M Men lost to Cedar City L. D. 5S Institute in a thriller on Tuesday night. The game stayed tied until 30 seconds remained when Cedar scored to take a 33 to 31 lead. The hometown squad fought hard but could not reclaim the final margin.

Iron County Over Tops Polio Drive Total

Iron County surpassed its March of Dimes goal led by Parowan Jaycees chair Whit Orton. County totals include Cedar City envelopes, with Parowan receipts not separately tracked, plus about 225 from a dance, a Saturday ball game, public-place boxes, and schoolchildren’s contributions.

Local Gun and Rod Club Delivers Elk to District

In response to a State Fish and Game request, Rows Leonard led Saund ers Clark and Emner Mitchell from the local club to transport five elk cows and five bulls captured near Santaquin. The herd was unloaded in Pine Valley as Cedar City sportsmen plan future shipments to the southern region after wardens trap more elk.

Founders Day Program Hosted by Local P T A

The local Parents and Teachers Association led by Mrs. Augusta Adams plans a Founders Day observance on Monday February 16 in the High School Auditorium. East Ward Relief Society Food Sale Saturday

East Ward Relief Society will hold a Saturday afternoon food sale in front of the Mitchell Variety Store to raise the $5 per capita Building Fund assessment.
