Parowan pledges to underwrite part of an 6100,000 loan for the new B A C gymnasium at the Agricultural College in Logan. Cedar City and Hurricane plan public subscriptions to cover about 1,620 in interest, with Parowan aiming to raise 450 and underwrite the rest. a committee was formed to solicit funds.

Hunters recapture jailbreak duo after rifle shot

Sheriff Leigh fired into the air to stop Albert Walker and Clifford Law who escaped from Cedar jail after theft of a Hupmobile from Petty Motor Co. They fled toward the Desert but were overtaken by Evelyn Parry and officers, surrendered when a rifle shot flashed between them. Preliminary hearing set for this morning.

Bank of Southern Utah Sues Mammoth Plaster Over Foreclosure

The Bank of Southern Utah filed suit in Cedar City against Mammoth Plaster and Cement Co and officers to foreclose a $3,650 note from July 1926 with only $219 paid. Interest sought totals $237.66 and Attorney fees are $365.00. James E. Carter also filed for divorce from Pearl Carter in the same week.

Apportionment Fixed For Dough Boy Monuments

County allocates 500 dollars for World War I veterans monuments. Cedar City on the South end receives 288.50, Parowan on the North end 211.50, based on 260 enlistees with 150 from the South and 110 from the North.

West Ward votes to build new meeting house

A large West Ward meeting decided to construct a chapel to serve the Ward. A committee chaired by Oscer MM Ly man will select the site plan and raise funds with Church assistance offering to cover half the cost. The proposed location options include Church land north of the Reef Fall and the East Ward tabernacle block.

Court term to convene on the twenty-fifth in district schedule

The district court term for the year will convene on the twenty-fifth of this month per Judge Burton's calendar. Rumor says Judge Bates may attend part of the term to hear railroad cases in which Judge Burdon is disqualified.

Final action on club house to be taken by Gun and Red Club
