Matheson Family Big Reunion and Christmas Dinner

The Matheson Klan held a large reunion in the Relief Hall on Monday with 136 members present despite some illness or travel. A turkey and chicken dinner plus entertainment accompanied the gathering as Mr. Alex Matheson, the eldest member, shared early family history and the group voted to make the reunion an annual event.

Music teacher engaged for Parowan High School

Charles J. Engar of Salt Lake City has been hired to fill the head of the music department vacancy at Parowan High School. He brings church school experience in Utah and Idaho, specializes in band and orchestra, can teach violin, and will join after the holidays. School resumes January 5.

Still Selling Rambouillet Sheep to Texas Woolgrowers

The valley’s Famous Rambouillet flock shipments to Texas last week included 115 ewe lambs at 21 dollars each and 69 ewes at 30 dollars each from Loyd White’s flock, plus 25 head at 50 dollars and 45 ram lambs totaling 5950 dollars from Day Farms. Prices paid were for sheep sold locally, not delivered in Texas, with a Texas Agricultural College representative assisting selections. A full payment check was left with Day.

Estray cattle to be sold at Parowan auction

Edward Bentley Foundkeeper for Parowan Precinct Iron County Utah states he holds estray animals taken up December 24 1927. Describes one yearling heifer with ear damage and missing brand. If not claimed by January 3 1928 at 2:00 p.m. the animals will be sold at public auction at his Parowan residence.

Mr. Jose Mickelson has spent six months in Wyoming and returns home for holidays with plans to settle there. Mr. and Mrs. Evans of Minersville visit Mrs. Evans's relatives, the Jose Decker family, for the season.

Coach Vicker Watkins resumed duties here after a brief holiday vacation at home. Basketball games scheduled for the latter part of the week brought him back to lead the team.
