The community mourns Charles Adams a pioneer and prominent citizen who died at 84 after years of service. He declined gradually over the past years with no reported suffering. Funeral services are set for Friday and a brief life sketch will appear in the next issue.
Mrs. Johnson of Benjamin Utah returns home after visiting with her daughter Mrs. Taylor Parkinson and Wilma and Miss Cruiksjiank plan to spend holidays at home in Montpelier. Glen Orton and Miles Maret Jen from the University of Utah come home for holidays. Snow blocks North Rim Chand Canyon road as workers report heavy snowfall. Wm M Eyre of Cedar City sends holiday greetings from Salt Lake City.

At a Chamber of Commerce meeting this week Parowan pledged 5000 dollars toward a 25090 dollar loan to finish the B A C Gymnasium. Senator L N Marsden outlined the need and said he would cover a fifth if required, with hopes the next legislature will provide support. County Commissioner H L Adams offered to take a fifth as well. The loan is not needed until February and plans for reorganizing the chamber with a large January banquet were announced.

The assembly vote named Dean Mitchell winner for best song after a chorus contest among contestants Steven Decker Ruth Clark. Bishop Maraden addressed the crowd sharing school day memories as townsfolk are urged to attend each Friday at 2 39.
Last Friday in assembly a prize of three dollars was awarded to Dean Mitchell for handing in the best school song. The winning piece extols friendship and loyalty to the P H S with a chorus favoring love, greeting, and a pledge to the PTA and its queens.

Parowan Wards announce special Christmas programs at Sunday Sacrament meetings with talks and Christmas music. East Ward details are limited but include a festive talk and carols. West Ward features John Pace on the Birth and Mission of the Savior, Metta Rollinson and company singing Silent Night, Myra Dalton sharing a Christmas story, and Junior Girls performing a Christmas carol under Della Marsden. Pearl Decker reads greetings from the First Presidency.
About 12 inches of snow covered the area during the recent storm. Miss Elva Davis and Messrs G B Williams and Mel Pay Williams spent last Thursday visiting Taquerville Afr and Mrs Cormeron Reeves of Cedar City is visiting relatives here at present.
