In a dated August 13 letter State Fish and Game Commissioner D H Madsen directs the Parowan Gun and Red Club to notify all hunters that no shooting of sage hens or other upland game will be permitted in Parowan valley this season. Open season for sage hens and upland birds outside the valley runs September 1 through 10. The Parowan Paragonah game preserve remains a state preserve per the proclamation, to be maintained as such.

Parowan officials authorized a survey for a Federal Aid road from the north end of Parowan Main Street toward the hill beyond Winn Hollow, choosing a compromise route that shortens distance and follows engineers’ guidance. Local chatter spots Mr. Phil Datley of Summit with a peach or chard comprising more than 1600 trees. The fruit, said to ripen shortly after September first, comes from high altitude where peaches can be picked ripe. The Gua and Red Club reports 25000 more small fish planted in three forks of Parowan Creek and Day-Adams Reservoir in Co-op valley, aiming for better fishing in 1 2 years.
