Survived by husband, eight children including Georgiana Macfarlane, Aaron, Howard, Orton, Florence, Ada, Merrill, two sisters, and 19 grandchildren. Funeral plans not listed. she was active in Parowan drama and Latter day Saint church groups.
Parowan East Ward invites all residents to a Friday evening event on August 27 honoring Bishop Jeuse W. Guymon and his counselors Elmer Guer and M. Howard Ward. If weather permits it will be in the park near the library. otherwise in the Recreation Hall. An informal program starts at 6:30 PM with singing readings and music, luncheon, and dancing.

Two local youths Bud Halterman and Bill Harris enlisted in the U S Navy about a month ago. They are undergoing boat training in San Diego. Bud Halterman has persisted illness since arrival and was hospitalized for observation for suspected polio, but later word confirmed he does not have the disease and is improving.
Memorial services will honor Major Owen Allred on Monday at 3 p.m. in the Second Ward Chapel Cedar City College Ward presided by Bishop Roscoe Grover. Maggie May Macfarlane died early Thursday in San Diego California after suffering a series of acute cerebral hemorrhages. Born May 5 1888 in Parowan she worked as a clerk in Parowan and Cedar City before marrying and settling there. Her death was learned by family in Cedar City.

William Gary Jensen debuts August 14 at Iron County Hospital.
