Orland W Ward former Parowanite is named Grand Praetor of Sigma Chi Rocky Mountain Province by Grand Consul Richard S Doyle to succeed Judge Robert W Reidy of New Mexico. He is associate professor of physical education and intramural director at the University of Wyoming and has led Gamma Xi Chapter since 1947. Ward also presides over the Laramie Alumni Association, holds a USC Southern California master’s degree, taught and coached in Montana and Utah, and played basketball at Montana State. He served 3 1/2 years in the U S Navy in WWII. Arch Benson left for a ten day Kansas City trip with Lynn Chase to attend a horse show.

Parowan High School students will hold Friday primaries to nominate candidates for student body offices at a general election next Friday. Presidential candidates are Nelson Merkley Kenneth Bayles Larry Rowley and Douglas Rogerson. Vice president nominees include Adele Green Georgia Rowley Nerema Alger and Charles Murie. Secretary candidates are Donna Batt Connie Dunton Kathy Nielsen and Pamela Mitchell. After the primaries two parties will be formed and campaigns launched for party nominees. Editors and yearbook posts are also on the ballot.

Funeral Services Held For Mrs Cecil Adams
Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil Tebbs Adams 56 were held in Parowan ward chapel. She died Sunday morning from a heart ailment. Interment was in Parowan City cemetery. Survived by husband two sons Tebbs and David Adams two daughters Claudia Halterman and Joan Lee and five grandchildren. Also survived by her mother two brothers Dan and Ray Tebbs and two sisters Addie Miller and Ruth Butterfield. Mrs Adams taught in Panguitch Milford and Parowan and actively served in LDS Church organizations.
