Final Rites Held Sat For Mrs Zilpha Dalton
Final rites were held Saturday for Mrs Zilpha Lewis Dalton 59 who died at home after a heart attack. Services were at the First Second Ward Chapel conducted by Bishop Harley W Dalton with prayers at home by Edgar Benson and at the church by H E Bayles. Speakers included Mrs Phebe Taylor Mrs Barbara M Adams and President Howard D Knight. Musical numbers featured the Singing Mothers directed by Cherie Day with Yvonne Chamberlain at piano. Interment was in Parowan City Cemetery.

Parowan High Contest Winners to Tour State Projects
Parowan High School students Kenyon Clark Robert Mitchell Darlene Thornton Sammy Lister and LaMar Anderson winners of the annual conservation contest will take a three day field trip May 12 to May 14. They will visit fish hatcheries at Hatch Glenwood and Loa spend a night at Fishlake and tour the Fillmore reseeding project and the Clear Lake Bird Refuge in Millard County with transportation provided by Utah Fish and Game Dept. and help from Parowan Gun and Red Club.

Parowan Names Two Juniors to Girls State Delegation
Parowan High School selected two juniors Miss Georgia Rowley and Miss Darlene Hyatt to represent the school at Girls State on the Utah State University campus in early June. Rowley, daughter of Bishop George F. Rowley, is active in dramatics and home economics and cochaired the Junior Prom committee. Hyatt, daughter of Alma E. Hyatt, has been active in dramatics and opera, served as co editor of the high school newspaper, and is among the school’s A honor students.

A grave site was dedicated by Lewis Dalton, the deceased’s son, in a ceremony noted for its quiet dignity. Local mourners attended as the family marked the interment with traditional rites and a brief tribute.

Big Game Board Sets Dates For Hearings
Utah's Board of Big Game Control schedules five public meetings to collect facts and recommendations on upcoming fall hunts. Dates: June 27 Kanosh, June 28 Richfield, June 29 Price, June 30 Salt Lake City, July 1 Ogden. The five member board will then meet in executive session to set the 1980 hunt, with proclamation rules published afterward. Orton Wins Ford Dissertation Fellowship for 1960 61
Bryce Orton a University of Washington lecturer in the College of Business Administration has been awarded a 4500 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship for the 1960 61 school year. He will study costs of research and development of new products at UW and travel to the East to confer with executives from national firms. He also wins a 1200 Summer Faculty Fellowship at UCLA for eight weeks of research this summer. Orton is on leave from Ricks College Rexburg Idaho.

Bennett Urges Federal Funds For Power Lines
Senator Wallace F Bennett urged the House Appropriations Committee to add 35 million for the Upper Colorado River Storage Project to fund federal construction of power transmission lines.
