Graduation set for Parewan High School seniors

Friday of next week marks the end of another school year in this county with few disruptions. Parewan High School will hold graduation on Thursday at eight in the Tabernacle with 15 graduates, led by speaker Dr George H Brimhall president emeritus of Brigham Young University.

Adams Dies at Provo State Mental Hospital

Mr Wm Br Adams of this city son of Wm Adams died at the State Mental Hospital in Provo last Friday and was brought home for burial Sunday. Debility and exhaustion were given as the cause. Born Sept 2 1878 he studied locally then earned a BYU scholarship for a South America research trip. He attended the University of Utah and did a three year L D S mission in Germany. Funeral services Sunday featured John Stevens and Walter C Mitchell with solo by L J Adams. survived by father two brothers four half brothers and a half sister.

Spring Scout Meet Planned at Cedar City Campus

The National Park Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host its annual spring meet at Cedar City on April 29 and 30. Hundreds of boys from Zion National Park Council will camp on the campus North lawn under Scout Executive John A. Young and Scoutmaster F E Tay Lyman. Events include registration Friday, a parade Saturday, a field meet, banquet, court of honor, and a dance in the B A Auditorium. The Branch Agricultural College grants campus use, with Oscar Kirkham of Salt Lake City among speakers, joined by Anderson of the Timpanogas Council, Victor Lindgland of the Cache Council, Zion officials, and guests from Los Angeles.

Our local ranger oversees 150000 acres including Navajo Lake and Parowan canyons. He manages timber and grazing, fights fires, builds trails, and guides recreation while ensuring watershed use and future timber supply. Impressive Rites Held for Susana M Matheson

The body of Susana M. Gurr Matheson was laid to rest Friday in the city cemetery after a large service at the Tabernacle. Bishop Adams led the service with remarks by Eleanor Bruhn and performances by Miss Mary Orton and the choir. Matheson, born January 7, 1867, devoted to family and civic life, survived by seven children and her husband Simon A. Matheson, with relatives including siblings, grandchildren, and several in-law connections.

Dalton Lose Infant Daughter in Tragic Death

Grief stricken Mr and Mrs Meeky Dalton mourn their thirteen month old daughter who died Monday from bronchial pneumonia though physicians doubt the official cause. Funeral services were held at the Tabernacle Wednesday with speakers John Stevens Walter C Mitchell and R L Fenton and readings by Carol Adams as the choir performed. The West ward gleaners held an Easter dinner party Tuesday at Miss Fra Adams home.
