Calf Gifted to Parowan F F A Chapter for Merit
The Bank of Southern Utah and Branch Agricultural College at Cedar City joined F F A to award a $300 calf to Clair Robinson of the Parowan F F A Chapter for excellence in academics and chapter work. He will return the heifer to the club to be reissued to another eligible beef cattle student. The bank plans a dairy calf reward once food quality is secured, expanding the club’s chain project including swine, sheep, and beef.

Accident Victim Remains In Serious Condition
Mrn Jane Adame Mitchell injured in a Thursday car truck collision on the southbound highway. She remains in serious condition at Tron County Hospital with burns and deep cuts, while J Harold Mitchell and another passenger suffer multiple injuries. Joan Mitchell escaped with a minor cut and returned home. William C Mitchell expects to leave hospital soon for minor wounds.

Dinner in the Home Economics Quarters was prepared by High School Home Economics classes under Mrs Alta Dulten Pratt. Frank Bryer Adams son of Mr and Mrs Bryer Adams rushed to County Hospital with appendicitis and underwent surgery. Master Jerry Ward released from Iron County Hospital after 17 days with a broken elbow. Shirley Rowley underwent appendectomy after admission to hospital. Mrs Mable Wilcon accompanied her father Edmund Stevens back to Parowan after winter visit. Stevens spent part of winter with daughter Mrs Lucy Riding. Halterman Dalton and Adrian Dalton families left for Flagstaff Arizona in Halterman s new car. Sue and Adrian return to school. Alma Decker and family delayed trip to Mesa due to flu epidemic. Kathleen hospitalized with pneumonia but all are better and home now.

Stake Pageant Depicts Relief Society History
The Relief Society pageant The Mother of the Church will feature members from every Ward in Parowan Stake and be staged at the Cedar City First Ward Church on Sunday evening, April 20. It includes eight episodes tracing the society’s history with a chorus of over 100 mothers. Written and directed by Elaine Southwick and Kate Palmer, production management by Edna Sargent, and staging by Today City Wards. Each Ward prepares its part with two final rehearsals set for Tuesday the 15th and Saturday the 19th. Everyone is invited to attend this historic presentation.

The Parewan Chamber of Commerce held its regular monthly meeting at the County Courthouse. Ivan Decker announced Dixie Junior College will present a production here soon. Kent Mitchell noted a geology group and students from Brigham Young University will visit Parowan April 10 or 17 to study formations and artifacts at Parowan Gap. A committee of H. Adams, Thales Brown and Orkind Ward was named to oversee visitor arrangements. The group was asked to draft building regulation recommendations for future city projects.
