Graveside rites set for Pic M Arthur Peterson Sunday
Graveside services for Pic M Arthur Peterson will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the City cemetery. Peterson, a Pacific theater veteran who died from Okinawa injuries May 25, 1945, was born September 10, 1916 in Milford Utah. He moved to Parowan as a boy, later lived in Southern California, and served in the 27th Infantry Division. He is survived by his mother in Parowan and four sisters in Utah, Nevada, and Washington. The East Ward Bishopric will conduct with American Legion Post 20 providing military honors.

Benson Wins Acclaim In BYU Debate Meet
Ralph Benson of Brigham Young University earned notice in the Pacifi coast intercollegiate debate tournament at Redlands California March 24 25 and 26 He and Kay Randall were the only non California finalists in the senior men's division and Benson reached the semi finals in the impromptu speaking contest The BYU team also won the northwestern invitational meet at Missoula Montana last year and Benson serves as a debate manager at BYU He is the son of Roy and the late Kiea Gunn Benson of Parowan and has been active in forensics since leaving Parowan High School.
