Deborah shelters in chaparral as two horsemen approach the bluff seeking the Frisco Kid known as the Brisco Kid. They discuss a Casebeer outfit planned for a border crossing while rumors accuse the Kid of past stage robberies and darker deeds. Debated trust and danger loom as the valley hides a tense confrontation.
Deborah hides on a cliff with three men below as Kelleen maneuvers to protect her while revealing the conspiracy around Meager and a Casebeer gang. Suspicion grows about Kelleen as she fears his possible double dealings and plots an escape before his return. A predatorlike hand grasps her at the cliff edge.

Pearl Travers is rescued by the mysterious "Mr. Jones" as Eichner plots to seal his fate with a dangerous bottle and a looming confrontation. The man known as Jones evades capture while Pearl presses for truth about his identity.
Deborah Meredith, a trained nurse, cares for Mrs Meager on the Meager ranch near the southern border. Meager’s stepson Boeager arrives and seizes control forcing a marriage to take place with Justice Garrity. Deborah escapes after a standoff, encounters the outlaw Frisco Kid Daniel Kelleen, who aids her in fleeing into the desert.
