Evanston Wyoming Sept 24 The first murder in Evanston in years occurred Sunday afternoon when Manuel Lopez 28 a Mexican allegedly shot Gimeond Reyes also Mexican at the Union railroad crossing. Deputy Sheriff B C Hughes pursued Lopez who fled to Hub Pool Hall and into back alleys before being cornered in a shed on Episcopal Church grounds and arrested at 3:55 p m. Reyes died soon after from a bullet wound through the left cheek entering the brain. An inquest will likely be held today. No witness to the killing. Both men carried guns.
