Joan Hulme 17 daughter of Mr and Mrs George Hulme Paris has been chosen as an Ida ho delegate to the 4 H Club Congress in Chicago December 1 5 She has completed more than 22 4 H projects in eight years in 4 H work including a horse project begun in 1964 and five years of horsemanship She has done food health child care and clothing projects and knit beef projects Junior Leadership work and helped sister Nancy keep the Paris 4 H Horse Club active She is also a musician and Bear Lake High School honor student.

Large Field Enters Idaho Grassman Cut-off Campaign
A bumper crop of county candidates in the Idaho Grassman program looms as Oct. 15 deadline nears. State committee reports 38 counties with 117 candidates last year and expects nearly as many this year. Car Plunges Into Bear River Injuring Two Girls
Two Montpelier sisters Susan Smith and Shauna Whittle were injured when their car failed to navigate a curve on US 30N east of Montpelier. The vehicle rolled into Bear River landing upright. both girls escaped onto the roof and were helped to shore by Frank Speirs who then moved them to a hospital. Police cited speed as the likely cause. injuries include head cuts and possible broken collar bone and ankle.

Council launches Operation Respect initiative described

Lydia Ann Weston Johnson 86 died of natural causes September 26 at an Ogden rest home. A Laketown native born September 9 1882 she was lifelong LDS member married to Willis De Wit Johnson in 1906 Salt Lake Temple. Funeral Monday 1 p.m. Laketown Ward Chapel with Laketown Cemetery burial.

Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge to Host Public Meeting
A public meeting on Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge operations is scheduled for October 15 at 8 p.m. in Paris Courtroom. Refuge Manager Russell Hoff man says Interior Department officials from the Portland region will attend to discuss hunting, economic use, and future plans following the 1968 Executive Order creating the refuge.
