Funeral services for pioneer Lanark woman
Funeral services were held in the Liberty ward chapel for Elizabeth Brown Vallentine 89 a Lanark resident since 1880 who died at her Lanark home. The service conducted by Bishop Marvin Hymas included prayers obituaries tributes musical selections and remarks. Interment followed in Lanark cemetery with grandsons acting as pallbearers and granddaughters as flower girls. Vallentine born in Lanarkshire Scotland October 25 1868 came to America in 1880 marrying Charles A Vallentine in Logan Endowment House October 30 1895. Surviving are two sons two daughters a sister 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Her husband and three sons preceded her in death. Relatives from distant points attended.

Fielding B. Peterson aged 56 native of Star Valley and Wyoming state game warden died suddenly last Thursday night September 18 of a heart attack in Riverton on official business. He had recently moved to Cheyenne after his appointment and is survived by his wife and three children.

State Controlled Antelope Hunt Opens Saturday

Central Farmers file counter suit against Monsanto
The Central Farmers Fertilizer company, backed by major central states cooperatives, filed a counter-claim against Monsanto Chemical seeking damages potentially in the millions. Traffic to Yellowstone south entrance leads August hike
Highway traffic on U S 89 through Idaho and Wyoming to Yellowstone south entrance rose 16 percent in August from 1957. The 24 hour August average was 1652 cars versus 1423 last year. Through August 31 the south gate led with 385 280 entrants, compared with 356 770 west and 282 132 east. The total for five entrances was 1 272 821, down 10.2 percent from 1957.
