In Rich County the Democratic primary saw two races decided with low turnout. Adolph Larsen, longtime county clerk, lost to deputy Cerea Jessup for the November ballot by 131 to 157 votes. LeRoy Thompson defeated Alma Argoyle 51 to 39 for assessor. Sheriff Sherman Lutz and recorder candidate Glenn Hanney faced no opposition.

File Charges For Girl's Death In June Auto Crash
A complaint charging negligent homicide has been filed against Orval Dimick 25 of Wardboro over a June 21 highway crash between Montpelier and Paris that killed four year old Kitakita Parry, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Parry. The incident, described by prosecutor Elbert E Gass, involved Dimick driving a car that overtook the Parry vehicle, causing a rear collision and fire. Dimick was rescued from the burning vehicle and hospitalized for several days. The filing was made before Judge A B Leeright in Montpelier justice court.
