Heber James Price 70, lifelong Bear Lake County native and former Price Lumber owner, died September 28 at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital Montpelier after a lingering illness. Funeral held October 1 in Paris Second Ward chapel with Bishop Clifford Price officiating. He was born October 4 1888 in Paris, married Annie Grandy June 6 1903 in Salt Lake Temple, had two children Verla and Russell. Survived by widow Annie, daughter Verla Thomas and son Russell Price. pallbearers named.
Fifty nine Bear Lake Rangers traveled to Brigham City on Monday for a banquet and entertainment at Tropi Ranger President Rex Mattson introduced master of ceremonies Glen Ward. Ogden duo Southland Playboys performed, guests Henry Parker and Claude Wintergren entertained. next party will be the annual Christmas gathering.

Construction on five miles of Lanark road began last week from two miles north of Paris to the Emigration canyon highway at Liberty. Jack Parsons Construction of Smithfield Utah won the bid at 112728 dollars and several local residents in Lanark and Liberty have found work with the firm.
The Fielding Spartans beat North Gem 12 to 7 on the local field and then upset Grace Red Devils 32 to 14 at the batter's grounds. Homecoming vs Montpelier Bears is set for Friday October 10 with 12 to 1 pm Alumni assembly and 2 pm kick off.

Drevlow Arnold Williams Ruth G. Moon head the group arriving Paris 11 a.m. from Preston and touring the west side before Montpelier. All county Democratic candidates expected to attend.
Miss Annette Erickson daughter of Mr and Mrs Don Erickson of Fish Haven and Sterling Wallentine son of Mr and Mrs L C Wallentine of Paris were married in the Logan temple on Friday September 26 The ceremony was performed by President George Raymond. Families of both are noted with a reception and breakfast following the event in Logan and Fish Haven ward hall.
The 89ers International Highway Association Inc will hold its annual convention in Livingston Montana on Monday and Tuesday October 20 and 21. Martin H Cantwell executive secretary from Salt Lake City says the Hon A Russell Patrick Alberta minister of economic affairs will be principal speaker. 89er clubs from the highway length will be represented with F W Sorgatz of Montpelier Idaho assisting reservations via Livingston Chamber of Commerce.
Idaho hunters face opening day October 4 for big game and migratory waterfowl. Shooting hours run from one half hour before sunrise to sunset for waterfowl and from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset for big game. Some areas use Pacific time, others Mountain. Deer rules allow a second deer only in D-11 D-21 and D-24 zones with an extra tag. a third deer may only be taken in the Salmon River Middle Fork area.
A new brochure by the 89 er International Highway Association showcases the 89 highway from southern Mexico to central Alaska. It features National parks from Jasper to Grand Canyon, scenic spots in Wyoming Utah Arizona and Mexican coast resorts, with seven strip maps and distribution through travel bureaus and chambers of commerce.
