Relief Society Social Honors Retiring Officers and Local Figures
The Relief Society hosted a social on Tuesday in honor of retiring officers Ivy Jensen Ruth Beck Marietta Sorenson Mae Sorenson Inez Phelps Wanda Johnson Selma Peterson and Hazel Peterson. Original poems by Inez Phelps Marie Olsen Wanda Johnson and Maybelle Peterson, plus a Nina Sorenson song and Nine Sorenson piano, Arvilla Peterson jokes, and a Shirley Johnson harmonica solo entertained the crowd. Ice cream and chocolate were served. Local residents Maurice and Ruth Beck visited the Blackfoot fair. Dewey Johnson in Preston. Ray Johnson and Willard Johnson visited Pocatello. Norma Lee Nielsen and Lois Nelson headed to Ogden for winter work. Attendees at a Logan football game included LaThair Peterson, Lowel Melon, Larry Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Dell Sorenson and George Johnson. Tuesday night featured Meet Me At Mutual with Mia Maids and Explorers, guided by Wyoln Nichols, presenting Portrait of a Great Personality with Fay Nichols artist and Laurell Sorenson reader assisted by Renee Peterson, Karen Summers, Faye Peterson, Carl Beck, Kent Sorenson, and Brent.
