Henry Humpherys 73 a Bear Lake county native and longtime Utah Power and Light employee died at home in Paris from a heart ailment. He was buried in Pars city cemetery after funeral services at the Paris First ward chapel. He had served on the Paris city council and held various L D S church positions. He is survived by his widow two sons two daughters and five grandchildren. Funeral details scheduled with calling hours set.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rudolph Bienz were conducted in the Bern ward chapel on Friday September 5 with Bishop Dean Kunz presiding. Burial followed at Stern cemetery. Mrs Bienz born March 20 in Derri cottt to Joseph and Annie. she married Rudolph Bienz at Logan Temple and lived in Bern. She was an active church member and longtime Bern school board trustee.

The stamp goes on sale October 27 in Tucson Arizona during the American Forestry Association annual meeting. It honors Theodore Roosevelt's 100th birth anniversary and celebrates private and public support for forest conservation. First day mailings will bear the Smokey Bear and Keep America Green design.

Bear Lake county commissioners tabulated last Friday's special election showing 270 voting in favor and 174 against the formation of a county library district. East valley residents supported the measure. Montpelier precincts showed strong opposition and Paris voted against it. Sawmill Operator Hurt When Log Rolls Off Load

Miner Glen Palmer Dies From Mine Accident Injuries
Glen Palmer of Bear Lake county and Bloomington, Idaho, died in a Salt Lake City hospital on September 6 from injuries from a 20 foot fall in a Leese Wyoming mine on July 81. He was 48, survived by wife and four children, with funeral held in Montpelier and burial in Bloomington. Palmer had worked for Anaconda Copper in Butte and in Wyoming before returning to Leese, Bear Lake county. He was an uncle of George Palmer of Paris.

A delegation from the Daughters of Utah Pioneers urged Bear Hekee county to erect two signs 1000 feet on each side of the Pioneer Marker at the eastern entrance of the national forest in Emigration Canyon. The commissioners approved the signs and the group agreed to purchase them.

Contractors on Highway 89 in the Snake River canyon Wyoming begin work on the final 43 miles and announce daily road closures during specific hours from Monday through Saturday. Closures run 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with alternate hours 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Russell Patrick minister of economic affairs of Alberta will be guest of honor and speaker at the fourth annual international convention of the 89er International Highway Association in Livingston Montana on October 21. The Livingston Chamber of Commerce will host a banquet for about 300 delegates and visitors from five western states Canada and Mexico. Mitchell says the group promotes Western North America served by U S 89 Alberta Route 2 and Mexico's West Coast Route 15 and is open to all interested in regional economic welfare.
