Former Garden City Resident Dies in Ogden
Vernon Ladue Pope aged 72 of 3473 Fowler Ave Ogden died Wednesday in an Ogden hospital after surgery. Born November 15 1888 in Vernal Utah he married Mary I Merritt in 1911. Survivors include his widow several Ogden relatives and 32 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 00 pm in the Aulto Rest Chapel.

The Bear Lake County Daughters of Utah Pioneers held a social at the Montpelier Recreation Hall on September 8 at 8:00 pm to honor retiring officers who served four years.
