A party hosted by the combined Bear Lake Stake MIA boards celebrated Mr and Mrs Willard Ek Kunz for their service in the Stake Mutual. Chauncey DeOrr Michaelson of Ogden formerly of Sear Lake earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for gallantry in aerial missions with the Lexington during the Leyte battle on Oct 25, 1944. Mass Deer Harvest Report From Bear Lake Region
Hunters in the Bear Lake mountains report hundreds of deer taken since opening Wednesday. Bucks outnumber does by four to one as fine weather drives hunters to higher country where elk also lure many. Estimates show over 500 deer moved from Bear Lake canyons with 150 at Shepherd Brothers, about 50 at Crawford Market. Weather shift over the past two days dampens hunting joy as the season closes October 2.

Mrs Bertha Glick 66 Dies in Pocatello Hospital
Mrs Bertha Shepherd Glick 66 died early Friday in a Pocatello hospital after a lingering illness. Born December 1, 1890 in Salt Lake City she was daughter of Henry Robert and Sophia Shepherd. She married Harvery C Glick June 19 1916 in Kansas City Missouri and lived in Paris Idaho before moving to Lewisville and then Pocatello. Survived by husband three sons Harold and Armand in Idaho and Harvey L in Pittsburgh plus daughter Mrs Ray D Kinghorne of Lewisville, six grandchildren and four brothers and a sister. Funeral services held Tuesday in Pocatello.
