Mr and Mrs Morris B Athay, longtime Bear Lake valley educators, will depart Paris in December and sail January 1 from Los Angeles for Hamilton New Zealand. They will teach at a new L D S college opening February 10 at Private Bay Frankton Junction near Hamilton. Mrs Athay, a Paris Emergon first grade teacher, holds a masters soon, and Mr Athay has served as English teacher and guidance director at Montpelier High School.

Parley N Hodges Funeral Services Held at Garden City
Funeral services for Parley Nathaniel Hodges age 69 were conducted Monday at 1 pm in the Garden City Ward chapel. Hodges born March 26 1888 in Laketown died November 21. He served as sheriff game warden and on the Rich county education board. Survived by widow four sons two daughters nineteen grandchildren four great grandchildren six brothers and four sisters.

Blaze Destroys Dunford Home in Bloomington
Fire of undetermined origin gutted an eight room two story residence in Bloomington. The unoccupied house, recently bought by Hulme Dunford from Burt Payne, stood empty as the Dunford family had planned to move in after Thanksgiving. The blaze, reported around 12 30 pm by Max Jacobson and Tommy Rogers, destroyed the structure despite neighbor efforts. Property valued at 6000 to 7000 dollars with a small amount of insurance. Dunford has no immediate rebuilding plans.

Delegates to County ASC Convention Named in Election
The tabulation board of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation committee met November 25 and named chairmen of five community committees and delegates to the County Convention. Lowell Smart, Don Jensen, Truman Rigby, Clifford Skinner, and James Pugmire were chosen to represent Communities A B C D and B. Delegates will meet December 11 at 1 p m in the county ASC office to elect a three member committee with two alternates and appoint a chairman and vice chairman. The new committee takes office the following month.

Idaho Wildlife Federation meeting in Preston debated opening the season on June 4 versus the first Saturday in June. They supported a June 20 opening for Blackfoot river and tributaries to protect spawning trout and urged study of salmon and steelhead limits.
