Idaho Governor Barzilla W. Clark urged statewide participation in National Potato Week from December 2 to 10. He touted Idaho potatoes as best in the world and asked residents to celebrate by using the comery spud in many ways and supporting the statewide observance. Proclamations were released by Maine and other governors as well.

Stake M Men and Gleaner Girls to Stage Kids Dance

A novelty event by the Stake M Men and Gleaner Girls is planned for Friday night November 25 in the Paris pavilion. Admission is fifty cents a couple and ten cents for ladies. Readings include a “kids” dance requiring 17 years residence and nostalgic costumes. A feature is the election of stake M Men and Gleaner leaders with ward candidates announced and to be voted by secret ballot.

Mrs David Orr of Lanark Dies at 52

Mrs. David Orr, 52, of Lanark, died Tuesday evening from heart trouble after illness. Funeral plans were not set. Daughter of Mrs. John Parker of Paris from a prior marriage, she was born in Liberty and leaves thirteen children, ten surviving: Delwin, Elmo, Vonda King, Sharon Ulan Orr, Riemna Aleman, Neva, Arlow, Viron, Hertha, and Valinda Orr.

Paris Food Store Opens Saturday

The Paris Food Store will open its doors Saturday morning in the Browning building. Owner manager L F Buxton arrives from Pocatello with over 12 years in groceries. Buxton will run the store with his wife and operate on a cash basis. Elza Athay returned home to Smithfield Utah after visiting his mother.

Nimrod Fires At Deer After Mistaken Shot

Ross Hall of Sandpoint Nimrod fired at a white tailed deer after spotting what he thought was his target. He rushed to the spot and found no deer, as the animal had vanished. The incident reflects a misidentification during a hunting moment.
