Two Salt Lake City Men Plead Guilty to First Degree Burglary
District Judge Francis Rasmussen held the arraignment for Paul G. Hatton and Monty Kemp in Bear Lake County. Both confessed to burglary in two Montpelier area cases and entered guilty pleas on two counts. Sentencing is postponed until probation investigation completes. Bond set at ten thousand dollars each. defendants in custody since November 5.

Funeral Rites Held for Charles Isaac Law
Funeral services were held Friday at the Paris LDS Wards Chapel for Charles Isaac Law 81 who died Tuesday in Ogden Utah after a long illness. A Paris resident born September 23 1886 he was a former Paris City Councilman and longtime trustee of the Independent Elementary School District. He married Debra Prescott in 1912 and later Hona Pillsin 1926. survived by widow three sons four daughters and many grandchildren.

Funeral for Lewis T Lauridsen in Montpelier
Funeral services for Lewis Thomas Lauridsen 79 were held at Community Presbyterian Church Montpelier. He died Sunday at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital after a long life as a rancher and leader of Lauridsen Land and Cattle Company and Elk Valley Cattle Association. He is survived by his widow a daughter a stepson a stepdaughter three grandchildren and several siblings. Interment followed at Montpelier Cemetery.

Car Collides With Cow Near Bloomington
Sunday evening a car driven by Mrs. Wilford Lewis of Soda Springs struck a cow near Bloomington on US-89. The cow owned by Eugene Hart had to be destroyed. No injuries to Mrs. Lewis or her husband, a passenger. vehicle damage estimated at $500. Sheriff's Department investigated.

Tamara Reese daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Reese of Bloomington was crowned Sweetheart of the Bear Lake FFA Chapter during the annual Sweetheart Ball at the Parish Pavilion. Attendants were Rozanne Jensen Sheila Paynes. Music by Keith Jensen Orchestra Preston. Contestants included Rae Jean Arnell Abby Perkins Marsha Bateman Tanya Wuthrich and the winner was chosen from eight girls after events such as milking a cow saddling a horse tractor driving shooting and a test on FFA.
