60 000 Fingerlings Planted in Streams on West Side
State Fish and Game reports show about 60 000 fingerling fish planted this fall in St. Charles Creek Bloomington Creek Paris Creek and Mill Creek. Bloomington Lake also received some fish. Plants were made early enough to reach headwaters for a successful release.

Engineer Shop Company Aids in Redeployment
The 734th Engineer Heavy Shop Company arrived overseas in September 1948 to water proof and assemble heavy engineer equipment for the Normandy invasion. After D-day they supported the Seventh American and French First Armies and later moved to Marseille to process equipment for Pacific redeployment. Approximately 70 000 troops are attached to Delta Base in Marseille, which directs redeployment operations. T/S Roscoe L. Floyd, son of Mr and Mrs Chancey Floyd, of St Charles Idaho, serves in this company and wears the ETO Ribbon with one campaign star and the Good Conduct Ribbon.
