Blaze Destroys Home on Vallentine Ranch Near Paris
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed a nine room residence on the L. C. Vallentine ranch about three miles northwest of Paris between 7 and 8 o clock Friday night November 8. The home built about 20 years ago, valued at roughly 17 thousand dollars to replace, was unoccupied at the time though furnishings and storage were inside. Neighbors saved some items and prevented flames from reaching the garage and tool shed housing a hay baler.

He succeeds Reed Lowe, who has acted as president and secretary the past year. Floyd Weed and Glenn Talbot were named as new directors, with Warren Wright Leland Tufts and Harold Hess continuing as holdovers. Mr. Lowe will serve as secretary for the coming year.

Burglars Hit Shepherd Hardware in Paris Over Weekend
Burglars gained entry through a rear window at Shepherd Hardware, rifling the safe for about 75 to 100 dollars in cash and taking 100 to 500 dollars in merchandise. They left scattered items including silverware, cookware, fishing gear, watches, razors and electric blankets. No burglary insurance covered the loss.
