The memorial day program will be rendered at the city cemetery at 11:00 oclock under the city cemetery committee and bishops of First and Second wards. A double quartet directed by Prof Irwin Jensen will perform with prayers by Pres Wm L Rich, an oration by F J Foulger, a solo by Blossom Wilks, and benediction by Pres M D Low. The event features a girls chorus and a short address by Mayor A W Shepherd.

In McCammon the Banana department attracted a crowd as a baked in tarantula crawled from bananas. Mandy Shumway pried the giant spider from fruit and regional workers placed it in a display case. The tropical tarantula, brought in with a banana shipment, revived when warmed in the store.

New York May 2b Liken boy bound for a day's picnic Lucky Lindbergh took five sandwiches to Paris. JB T Mahoney president of Ryan Airlines said he carried two ham sandwiches two roast beef sandwiches and one hard boiled egg sandwich four would be enough. He had two canteens of water about four quarts total but no coffee or liquor. He refused a thermos of coffee and never drinks or smokes. He carried concentrated food for one week and a water making device from breath moisture. He did not take life preservers or a parachute and the plane is not insured. He carried two flares for aid in forced landings.
