Wedding reception at St Charles for newly wed couple
Morrell Bunderson of Camp Lifton was injured in a Sunday auto crash on Highway 30 near Georgetown while returning from Grace Idaho. He was treated at Bear Lake hospital for facial and body injuries and shock after the car veered off the road and was demolished. Bunderson, a USU Logan student, is the older son of Lea and Margaret Bunderson of Camp Lifton.

Fielding student earns Henager scholarship in business
Charleen Bird daughter of Mr and Mrs Weyn Bird of Paris and Fielding High School senior won a Henager Business College scholarship after a competitive exam. The nine month training may be taken at Ogden or Salt Lake City. Exams were given to 492 seniors from 58 high schools in Idaho Utah and Nevada with 16 scholarships awarded. Bird was valedictorian and among top scorers.

Fielding Principal Chosen for Chemistry Fellowship
Weldon Grandy principal of Fielding High School receives notice from Harris O Van Orden that he is one of 50 chemistry teachers nationwide awarded a fellowship. The NSF funded $850 stipend supports graduate work and updates in chemistry. The institute runs June 10 to July 19 at Utah State University with staff from academia and industry.

St Charles Youth Returns From Cruise

Former U S A F Boy’s Happy Day With British Pilot
A small English boy Graham Oakley aged 9 remembered for a dream of flying into the U S A F. Lt Col William C Cooper of the 7533 Air Base squadron at Bushy Park London arranged a pilot day for him with Tech Sgt Willis Hemmert son of Paris residents Mr and Mrs Peter Hemmert. The boy, treated for asthma by a British doctor, wore a helmet as Hemmert adjusted it while Lt Collins’ crew watched.
