The Bear Lake Seminary held its May 19 graduation program at the Bear Lake Tabernacle starting 8:00 p.m. with A Ted Tuttle delivering the sermon. The event featured diplomas presented by Gilbert Hull and included talks, hymns, and performances by graduates and student speakers.

Funeral services for Mrs Beulah Hess Bird were held in the Paris Second Ward Chapel on Friday May 10 at 130 p m with Bishop Clifford Price conducting The program included preludes and postludes by Leonora Stucki and a quartet and vocal numbers by Velma Hansen Irene Wyler Taft P Budge Bryan Booth Melinda Gibbons and others A Daughters of Utah Pioneers tribute was given by Gertrude Price The grave was dedicated by Joseph Lin ford Pallbearers named and a large group of flower girls participated in the ceremony

C. C. Broxon of Tulare California becomes editor and publisher of The Paris Post after purchasing the newspaper from Keith Warner. The Warners, publishers for sixteen years, plan a brief trip before relocating to Denver. The new editors pledge to continue the paper’s service to Bear Lake County and maintain the Warners’ policy.

Idaho Bait Ban Prohibits Use of Fish for Fishing

Fishermen may not use minnows other fish or the young of any fish for bait starting May 16 under Idaho Fish and Game rules. Salmon eggs spawn remain allowed. Law aims to stop spreading undesirable fish between waters and requires commission regulation though the ban takes effect automatically.

Near fatal Laketown child run over by grandfather’s car

Burdette Weston three years old, son of Mr and Mrs Norman E Weston of Laketown, was run over Thursday morning May 9 by his grandfather’s car while playmates were in the yard. He suffers skull fractures, neck injuries and a broken nose and is in Bear Lake Hospital in fair condition.

Red Cross Swimming School Set at Bear Lake

The American Red Cross will run a swimming school from May 27 to June 7 at Bear Lake Hot Spring.
