Fielding High School to Hold May 26 Commencement
The seventeenth annual Fielding High School commencement will be held May 26 at 8 p.m. in the stake tabernacle. The program includes music by the mixed chorus, readings, salutatory and valedictory addresses, diplomas, and a list of graduates led by Weldon Cole and Ruth Tueller with Superintendent W. B. Price and School Board president O. H. Grimmett.

Dipping vats to be constructed in county
Dr F A Barber visited the county to aid plans for four to five dipping vats to combat ticks and lice on sheep. Vats will be wooden or cement with emphasis on effective dipping. Bureau estimates see gains of about 25 cents per head in lamb weight and wool. Indirect losses from ticks also cited.

Idaho fishing licenses distributed statewide ahead of May opening
Boise Harold R Harvey of the Idaho Fish and Game Department reports 46 540 licenses issued to 350 vendors statewide. The season opens May 30 with residents paying 2 dollars and out of state licenses priced at 5 dollars for fishing only and 2 dollars for a ten day license. The AG ruling bans out of state vendors from selling licenses and sales indicate strong demand.

Bear Lake Restocking Program Aims for Top Fishing Status
Idaho and Utah cooperate in a two state restocking effort using 600 000 eggs from St Charles Idaho and Swan Creek Utah. The Rainbow Rod and Gun club helped build St Charles station supervised by Idaho fish and game. Utah fish and game operates Swan Creek station. Dr Stillman Wright will lead a Bear Lake water and wildlife survey starting June 1. Hundreds of visitors from Idaho Utah and Wyoming visit daily and highway 89 will boost tourism and fishing.

Willis Praige and Mr. Davis attended an American Legion meeting in Paris Friday evening. Mr and Mrs E T Davis returned from Salt Lake City visiting their daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs John Sorenson. Mr and Mrs Arnold Brooker of Garden City are staying with Mr and Mrs Walter Lewis as Brooker recovers from pneumonia. The Montpelier stake Primary will present the Happy Hearts operetta on the 26th and 27th at the Montpelier high school auditorium. Mrs Wim Morgan of Boise, formerly of Paris, Montpelier, visited Paris Monday and plans to stay in Montpelier this week.

Seven Bear Lake county farmers have organized the Boehme-Hillier Power Farming Service near Geneva with support from community and cooperative services and the Farm Security Administration. Members lease shared equipment including tractor harvester and plow to farm families on a fee basis. New Rates Will Save Idaho Tax Funds
The Idaho public utilities commission said contractors and the state highway bureau would save thousands of dollars annually through a railroad freight rate reduction on interstate movement of roadbuilding equipment. The commission believes the new rate will divert movement from highways to rail. Mr. and Mrs. Bus Daniels of St. Charles spent the weekend at Legan.

S G Sleight Appointed Agent For U S Grain
S G Sleight, a Bear Lake County grain dealer, was named agent for the Farm Security Credit Corporation to handle farmers grain. He will buy stored wheat insured by the government and sell to the surplus commodities corporation for shipment to the west coast and export abroad. Farmers receive a bonus of 0.5 cents per bushel plus 7 cents for storage since last harvest. About 45,000 bushels are in Bear Lake granaries with most farmers having contracted to sell. Bear Lake farmers lead Idaho in this program with Sleight the only qualified agent so far.

Red Cross to Hire Nurse for Six Months in Paris Chapter
Paris Red Cross plans to hire a nurse for six months this fall. The national organization will pay about 137 dollars salary. local funds must cover roughly 60 dollars per month. Applications are filed, with county schools and Red Cross officials seeking county funds to support expenses.
